Why our rates. Matthew leads every engagement himself, and he has done compliance work hands-on: SOC 2 reporting, PCI-DSS reporting and a live DoD Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI). So the person setting your technical direction already knows what auditors and customers will ask for, and we build that into your architecture and roadmap from the start instead of retrofitting it later. That senior, hands-on experience is what you get from $2,000 a day, with lower day rates as your plan grows.

How we schedule.
A day is an 8-hour block of time, not a calendar date. We deliver it in 4-hour sessions, spread as evenly as we can across the weeks of your month, so 4 days is eight sessions, about two a week. We plan sessions around availability and share the schedule ahead of time. Larger months may be delivered in select weeks. Up to 3 days (six sessions) a week and 12 days (24 sessions) a month is our standard; if you need more, we will agree it in writing. If we move a booked live session to async for our scheduling, it bills at the async rate, and our scheduling never changes your tier.
Day plans are invoiced monthly and paid by ACH or wire.

Contract length depends on your combined monthly hours: 3 or 6 months up to 60 combined hours/month; 6, 12, 18, or 24 months above 60 combined hours/month.

How monthly hours work
Each day is 8 billable hours. Your included hours refresh each month. If you do not use them, they do not carry forward. Hours do not roll over, pile up, move between Null Engineer and NullCXO, or turn into credits or refunds.
Engagement terms, prepaid fees, unused hours, and cancellation provisions are governed by the executed services agreement.

What is a day?
A day is an 8-hour block of NullorNaN's time, not a calendar date. We deliver it in two 4-hour sessions, spread across your month. A half day is one 4-hour session.
How is a month priced?
Your total days that month set your day rate, and it applies to every day: $2,000 a day for 1 to 5.5 days, $1,900 for 6 to 8.5 and $1,800 for 9 to 12. Live days add $400 each. Example: 4 async days and 2 live days is 6 days, so 6 x $1,900 plus 2 x $400 = $12,200.
Does booking more ever cost more?
No. If a larger plan would cost the same or less than the one you picked, we bill that price and you get the larger plan's days.
What is async, and can we still talk live?
Async is how we work by default: the same senior work delivered in writing, reviews and recorded walkthroughs, scheduled by us so your days go into focused work. Live days on your calendar add $400 each, and you can mix them into any plan. Need a quick call during an async session? Just ask; that session bills as a live half day ($200 more).
Do I get any live time?
Yes. Every plan includes a 30-minute live sync every 2 weeks, on Fridays, at no extra charge, and it doesn't use up any of your plan days. Want more? Add live days at $400 more than an async day, or ask for a call during an async session (billed as a live half day).
Do NullCXO and Null Engineer cost the same?
Yes. A NullCXO day and a Null Engineer day cost the same: $2,000 for 1 to 5.5 days a month, $1,900 for 6 to 8.5 and $1,800 for 9 to 12, so you can mix executive leadership and hands-on engineering any way you like.

How do I pay?

What happens if I need extra time?
Add days any time, in half-day (4-hour) steps. Added days start on your next monthly invoice, and we show the new price, including any change of tier, before you confirm.
Is February cheaper?
No. Pricing is per calendar month, and your 4-hour sessions are spread across the weeks of that month. The same goes for months with 4 or 5 weeks.
